The California Highway Patrol reported a motor vehicle accident in Oakhurst on Sunday. The accident occurred near Road 222, near Road 220. The time of the accident is not yet known.
According to the officials, a propane truck was heading west on the road. The vehicle veered to its right and ran across the number two lane onto the first shoulder. This caused the vehicle to overturn.
The driver of the vehicle was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident but was partially ejected due to the force of the impact. This caused him to incur fatal injuries and he was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim has since been identified as 52-year-old Wayne Franklin Pipes.
The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision. There are no other details available.
