According to the California Highway Patrol, a fatal crash was reported on Sunday afternoon in the Yuba-Sutter County area. Officials confirmed that two people died due to the motor vehicle accident. Authorities stated that the collision occurred on Larkin Road, north of Riviera Road.
A Toyota Camry tried to pass traffic and therefore crossed from one lane to another in a two-lane undivided highway. As a result of this, the driver of the Camry collided head-on with a Ford F-150.
The driver of the Camry sustained critical injuries. The passengers in the Camry, identified as a 52-year-old man and a 59-year-old woman were pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck.
Other insights including the identity of the victims remain unknown. The crash continues to be investigated by the CHP.
