The Scottsdale Police Department reported a motor vehicle crash on Tuesday night.
The accident occurred on Scottsdale Road near Thunderbird Road at around 7:30 p.m.
According to the officials, a public transit bus was heading south of Scottsdale Road when it hit a man lying in the middle of the road.
The man, identified later as 52-year-old Jamie D. Slocum, was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene.
It is not yet known what was the reason behind the victim lying down in the middle of the road.
Whether drugs or alcohol were involved is yet to be found.
The fatal crash is being investigated by the officials.
Scottsdale Road was shut down for several hours while the investigation was carried out.
