The Texas Department of Public Safety reported a motor vehicle accident in Edinburg on Saturday night. The accident occurred on Tower Road, north of Curve Road at around 8:59 p.m.
According to the officials, a silver 2000 Nissan Sentra was headed north on Tower and Curve Road. The driver did not obey the traffic control sign on Tower Road and drove into the empty portion of the road.
The driver and the passenger present in the vehicle were taken to Doctor’s Hospital for treatment. The driver was fatally injured and was pronounced dead. He has since been identified as 52-year-old Esteban Garcia.
The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated at this time.
