A tragic multi-vehicle accident on Highway 123 claimed the lives of two individuals on Thursday. Emergency crews responded just before 7 a.m. on December 28 to the collision involving three vehicles near Rattler Road.
The preliminary investigation reveals that a northbound passenger car rear-ended another, causing it to be pushed into southbound lanes. A pickup truck pulling a trailer then collided with the second passenger car.
The victims, both in the same vehicle, were fatally injured and were pronounced dead at the scene. One of the victims was identified as 52-year-old Ericka Harris.
The highway was closed during the investigation, reopening around 1:30 p.m. It remains unclear if any charges will be filed in connection with the fatal crash.
