Authorities identified 51-year-old Steven Woolsey as the man who lost his life while 48-year-old Ronda Knapp who suffered injuries following a pickup truck crash on Feb. 4 in Yacolt.
The fatal single-vehicle accident took place on Northeast Lucia Falls Road at around 9:10 p.m. According to the investigation reports, a 2000 Toyota Tacoma driven by Ronda Knapp was traveling on Northeast Lucia Falls Road when the vehicle went off the road to the south and struck several trees. Steven Woolsey, of Yacolt, was in the front passenger seat of the vehicle at that time.
On arrival, emergency responders freed both Woolsey and Knapp from the vehicle. Woolsey succumbed to his injuries at the scene despite lifesaving efforts, whereas Knapp suffered serious but non-fatal injuries. Knapp was rushed to a local hospital for treatment. Speed and alcohol were involved in the collision, officials mentioned. Multiple agencies responded to the scene. No other details are available.
An investigation continues.
