According to the Leander Police Department, a fatal crash was reported on Sunday in Leander. Officials confirmed that one person died due to the motor vehicle accident. Authorities stated that the collision occurred in the 8600 block of RM 2243.
A Ford Excursion was travelling westward when it faced an internal issue. As a result of this, the Ford crossed the divider and struck a Chevrolet Silverado that was going eastward. The Silverado rolled off the road.
The driver of the Silverado was identified as 51-year-old Ray Shillito. Shillito was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck. The cause of the accident is being suspected as either a mechanical or tire-related issue. Other details pertaining to the accident are yet to be released. The crash continues to be investigated by the LPD.
