The Texas Department of Public Safety reported a multi-vehicle accident in Carson County on Saturday afternoon. The accident occurred on State Highway 152, about four miles west of Skellytown.
According to the officials, a 2020 Kenworth truck tractor was headed west while towing a semi-trailer. At the same time, a 2012 Kia Soul was headed east. The Soul veered into the westbound lanes and crashed into the Kenworth.
The driver of the Soul was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. The officials have since identified the victim as 51-year-old Cydney Morriss. The driver of the truck was not injured.
The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated by the authorities. It is unknown whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision. There are no other details available at this time.
