In a tragic collision on Wednesday morning, a 51-year-old woman, identified as Brenda Valdez lost her life. Her SUV collided with a semi-truck at the intersection of Clovis Road and North Loop 289. Emergency crews responded just before 8 a.m. to reports of the multi-vehicle accident.
Upon arrival, they discovered the SUV had struck the semi-truck. Valdez, the SUV driver, was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. Preliminary investigations indicate the semi-truck was stationary at a red light in the 3400 block of Clovis Highway when Valdez’s eastbound vehicle collided with it.
The authorities are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash, working to determine the cause.
