The Texas Department of Public Safety reported a motor vehicle accident in Brownsville on Wednesday. The accident occurred on Highway 4, past the checkpoint near Gavito Ranch Road at around 12:24 pm.
According to the officials, a Mack Truck Tractor Trailer was headed east on the highway at a high speed. The vehicle came around the curb at an unsafe speed which caused the vehicle to go out of control a bit.
The driver attempted to overcorrect which caused the vehicle to skid before rolling onto its side. The driver was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim was identified to be 50-year-old Paulino Santana Damian.
The fatal crash is still being investigated.
