The Phoenix Fire Department reported a bicycle accident on Sunday.
The accident occurred at the War Paint trail at South Mountain.
The officials reported that they received a call from the victim’s wife saying that she had not seen her husband after he had gone on his evening bike ride.
The firefighters were able to track down the 50-year-old man to the War Paint trail using his GPS.
The victim was found lying on the ground beside his bike and he was unable to move. He said he was suffering from back pain and had to be carried off the trail. He was later flown to the hospital in critical condition.
The identity of the victim has not been disclosed.
The accident is still being investigated by the officials.
