50-year-old James Weatherford dead after a two-vehicle collision in Livingston (Livingston, LA)

On Saturday, 50-year-old James Weatherford, a resident of Livingston, lost his life following a two-vehicle accident in Livingston.

The fatal incident took place on US 190 west of LA 63 in Livingston Parish at about 4 p.m. As per the initial reports, Weatherford was riding on a 2001 Harley Davidson on US 190 and he slowed to make a turn when a 2015 Nissan Sentra crashed into the motorcycle from behind. Officers are still finding out the reason that why the driver of the car was unable to stop before rear-ending Weatherford’s bike.

According to the officials, Weatherford succumbed to his injuries at the scene despite wearing a DOT-approved helmet. The driver of the car was reportedly wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and received minimal injuries. The driver of the car has not been charged at this time. Blood samples were taken from both drivers and were submitted to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for analysis.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
