According to the Flagstaff Police Department, a fatal crash was reported on Thursday afternoon in Flagstaff. Officials confirmed that one person died due to the motor vehicle accident.
Authorities stated that the collision occurred near Ponderosa Parkway and Route 66. A man attempted to run across the tracks in an area with no intersection or train crossing. However, the man was struck by a train.
The man was identified as 50-year-old Danny Quimayousie. Quimayousie was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck.
Other insights pertaining to the accident are pending release. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision. The crash continues to be investigated by the FPD.
