The New Mexico State Police reported a motor vehicle crash east of Gallup on Saturday. The accident happened on Interstate 40 close to mile marker 39. The collision involved a 2003 Chevy pickup truck.
They claim that the Chevy slid onto Six Mile Canyon Road after driving into the middle. A passenger in the truck, identified as Cesar Alfaro, 50, was declared dead at the site. Another passenger and the truck driver were sent to a local hospital.
Alcohol does not appear to be a contributing factor in the crash at this time, according to the police. At this time, no other details regarding the fatal crash have been disclosed.
