According to the California Highway Patrol, a hit-and-run accident occurred in Contra Costa County on Wednesday. The crash happened on the eastbound on-ramp at Lone Tree Way at around 3:30 a.m.
According to the investigators, a red Toyota Camry and a 50-year-old were involved in the collision. The unknown pedestrian was walking on the roadway and was struck by a red Toyota.
A 50-year-old Brian Posch was identified as the unknown pedestrian who suffered significant injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Some portions of the eastbound on-ramp at Lone Tree Way are blocked for further investigation.
The cause of the accident is still being investigated at this time. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident. No additional information regarding the fatal crash was provided by the Deputies.
