The Texas Department of Public Safety reported a motor vehicle crash in Weslaco overnight. The collision happened on Dillon Road at around 12:23 a.m.

A 2004 silver Buick Regal was traveling south on Dillon Road, and a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling north on Dillion, towards Alberta Road, according to the TDPS. The Buick’s driver veered into the northbound lane and struck the pickup head-on.

The Buick’s driver, 50-year-old McAllen resident Augustin Arcos Garcia, was taken to DHR Health Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

The Chevrolet’s driver has not been located at this time and the officials have not given out any details regarding the suspect. 

The DPS is currently looking into the fatal crash. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident. There are no other details available at this time.
