The Los Angeles Police Department reported a hit-and-run accident last week. The accident occurred at the intersection of Main Street and Colden Avenue at around 7:45 p.m.
According to the officials, a vehicle was speeding down the street when it ran a red light and crashed into another vehicle. This sent the other vehicle spinning down the road.
There were four occupants in the second vehicle – a mother, her 2 children and her niece. The mother, niece and one of the children were critically injured and rushed to a hospital. The 5-year-old child succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital. The identity of the deceased victim is not yet known at this time.
The driver of the first vehicle, identified as 26-year-old Pedro Murillo, surrendered to the police and was arrested due to the fatal crash.
