The fatal motor vehicle crash that occurred on Interstate 5 south of Liberal Avenue in Corning claimed the lives of five people on Saturday afternoon. The California Highway Patrol released a few details about the crash.
Roughly at 12:45 p.m., a 2003 Infiniti travelling northbound with four people accidentally ran through the divider and collided head-on with a 2016 Dodge Ram truck that was travelling southbound. Five people travelling in the car, aged from 8 to 52 years old were killed onsite, reported the CHP.
The identity of the victims is not disclosed yet. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated.
