According to the California Highway Patrol, a fatal crash was reported on Saturday in Oasis.
Officials confirmed that 5 people died due to the motor vehicle accident.
Authorities stated that the collision occurred at the intersection of 81st Avenue and State Route 86.
A Jetta was traveling eastbound and entered the intersection where a semi was going southbound. Without yielding to the semi, the Jetta’s left collided with the semi.
The five people inside the Jetta were trapped and had to be extricated. They were however pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck. The driver of the semi was not injured.
