According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a multi-vehicle accident was reported in Ector County.
The officials stated that six vehicles were involved in the crash that happened on Interstate 20.
The initial investigation reported that a truck tractor was heading eastbound on Interstate Highway 20 near the 104-mile marker when struck an eastbound vehicle from behind.
A four-vehicle chain-reaction crash followed after the truck crashed into a westbound vehicle.
Officials reported that five people were injured in the crash.
Two of the victims are in critical condition.
The officials have not yet revealed the identities of the victims involved in the crash.
The Texas DPS is yet to determine whether drugs, alcohol, or reckless driving was the factor involved in the crash.
