5 people hospitalized after a two-vehicle collision on 91 Freeway (Riverside, CA)

On Sunday morning, five people suffered injuries following a wrong-way crash on 91 Freeway.

As per the initial information, the two-vehicle collision took place at about 1:31 a.m. on the westbound Riverside (91) Freeway at La Sierra Avenue. The preliminary investigation showed that a vehicle traveling in the wrong direction crashed into another vehicle on the westbound lane of the freeway.

On arrival, firefighters freed the victims who were pinned inside the two vehicles. Medics took three people with critical injuries and two victims with minor to moderate injuries to an area hospital. No other details are immediately available.

The incident remains under investigation.
