On Tuesday morning, five people suffered injuries following a traffic collision in Lynnwood.
As per the initial information, the two-vehicle crash took place a little before 10 a.m. on northbound Interstate 5 at 164th Street Southwest. The preliminary investigation showed that both vehicles were traveling northbound on Interstate 5 when the Everett man’s vehicle veered left into the second vehicle, driven by a 36-year-old woman.
The second vehicle, carrying the 27-year-old Lynnwood woman and two juveniles, hit the off-ramp wall and vaulted onto the 164th Street Southwest off-ramp. The first car drifted across all lanes of traffic and struck the Jersey barrier on the right shoulder. The driver of the vehicle, a 35-year-old Everett man who caused the collision, is suspected of being impaired by drugs or alcohol.
The Everett man remained unharmed in the accident. Five people, including a Lynnwood woman, were taken to Everett’s Providence Hospital with unspecified injuries. No other details are immediately available.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
