On Thursday, five people sustained injuries following a multi-vehicle accident in Bakersfield.
As per the initial information, the 9-vehicle pile-up took place at approximately 4 p.m. on Highway 58 near South H Street. The preliminary reports showed that a semi-truck carrying hay rolled over and got engulfed in flames. Officials reported that a total of 3 big rigs and 6 other vehicles were involved in the wreck.
Reports further revealed that two people, including one of the semi-truck drivers, suffered serious injuries. Paramedics took a total of 5 people to the hospital for treatment. Alcohol and drugs were not involved in the crash, officials said. No other details are available.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
