A road in Murfreesboro was cordoned off by authorities Saturday night to probe an accident, involving a motorist and motorcyclists, resulting in a deadly outcome. At 9:05 p.m. on Saturday, April 13, the Murfreesboro Police Department announced the closure of South Rutherford Boulevard for an investigation into a potential road rage incident.
There was an altercation between an SUV driver and motorcyclists, leading to two individuals being struck. Both were hospitalized, with 49-year-old Paul Howell succumbing to his injuries.
A second victim, a 48-year-old man, sustained a wound to the arm and received medical treatment. The road was reopened approximately three hours later as law enforcement continued their inquiries into the tragic event.
