A tragedy unfolded in Tucson on Tuesday night as 49-year-old Nicholas Steven Kazmar lost his life in a two-vehicle crash near South Park Avenue and East Benson Highway.

The Tucson Police Department identified Kazmar, who was pronounced dead at a local hospital. Reports indicate he was riding north on Park when a pick-up truck, driven by 21-year-old Adrian Chavez, turned in front of him.

Chavez, found not impaired, stopped at the scene. The TPD attributes the multi-vehicle accident to failure to yield, and Chavez received a citation for causing death by a moving violation. Kazmar, not wearing a helmet, had drugs and alcohol on his motorcycle. This incident marks the fourth fatal crash in Tucson in just over a day.
