49-year-old Jessica Hood and a man lost their lives Wednesday night when the driver of a pickup truck ran them down as they attempted to cross the street on Houston’s south side.
As per the initial information, the fatal pedestrian crash took place at around 9 p.m. in the 9000 block of South Main near 610. The preliminary reports showed that a man and woman, who authorities identified as 49-year-old Jessica Hood, were attempting to cross South Main when the incident occurred. Both were killed at the scene.
On the other hand, the driver stopped and is cooperating with the investigating team. Officials are considering it as an accident. They have not yet found out who was at fault. The reports further revealed that there was not a crosswalk in the area where the pedestrians were struck.
An investigation continues.
