The Tucson Police Department reported a motor vehicle accident on Thursday. The accident occurred at West Miracle Mile and North Fairview Avenue at around 6:40 a.m.
According to the officials, a single vehicle was involved in the collision. The car was headed west on Miracle Mile in the curb lane. The car swerved left across lanes and crashed into the positive raised median. It then crashed into a palm tree.
The driver of the vehicle was critically injured and was rushed to a local hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. The officials have since identified the victim as 49-year-old Jared Stephen Krug.
The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated by the officials. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision. There are no other details available at this time.
