A tragic fatal crash occurred in Garden Grove on Monday morning, claiming the life of a 48-year-old homeless woman. The accident occurred on Hester Street at around 5:45 a.m.
According to the officials, a woman and a vehicle were involved in a collision. A 2006 Mercury Grand Marquis struck the pedestrian on Hester Street. The victim was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. Although her identity has not been released, her last known address was in Garden Grove.
Authorities do not suspect drugs or alcohol played a role in the collision, pending test results. The pedestrian accident is still being investigated at this time. The driver stayed at the scene, cooperating with authorities as the investigation unfolded.
