The Washington State Patrol reported a hit-and-run accident in Fife on Wednesday. The accident occurred on the northbound roads of Interstate 5, near 54th Avenue East, at around 3:20 a.m.
According to the officials, a white BMW was headed down the highway at a high speed when it crashed into a motorcycle. The force of the impact caused the BMW to be thrown about a mile away from the scene and it landed on its roof.
The driver of the motorcycle was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene. Any details regarding the identity of the victim are not yet known aside from the fact that she is a 48-year-old woman from Tacoma.
The driver of the BMW left the scene of the fatal crash. Officials have described the man as a 20-year-old man wearing a white T-shirt and black pants. No other details are known.
