The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office responded to a fatal traffic accident that claimed a life and injured another. The crash happened on Saturday at Shurling Drive at Treadway Drive just after 4 p.m.
According to the deputies, a Volvo S60 traveling west crossed the center line and struck a Honda Civic traveling east. The Honda Civic driver, a 30-year-old Forsyth woman, was taken to Atrium Health. She is reported in stable condition.
The Volvo driver. 48-year-old Misty Rethemeyer was taken to Atrium Health, where she died later.
No other injuries were reported in the crash. The crash is under investigation.
