According to the California Highway Patrol, a 48-year-old resident of Rio Dell was killed in a motor vehicle accident in Humboldt County on Tuesday.
Roughly at 12:30 p.m., a 48-year-old who was not wearing a seat belt swerved off the road and fell into an embankment at the Jordan Creek Bridge on U.S. Highway 101. The man was fatally injured and was pronounced dead right away.
The identity of the dead is not yet disclosed. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated. No further information is available at the moment.
