According to the California Highway Patrol, a motor vehicle crash that took place in Merced County claimed the life of 48-year-old Gubir Singh.
Roughly at 8:30 p.m., Gubir Singh, driving a Freightliner tractor northbound on Interstate 5, lost control of the vehicle and crashed into an embankment. Gubir Singh was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The officials have not disclosed if there were others present in the vehicle at the time of the crash. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated. No further information is available at the moment.
