A fatal crash claimed the life of 47-year-old Veronica Villareal, who succumbed to blunt-force injuries inflicted by the accident. The tragic incident occurred just after 11 p.m. on Sunday when Villareal was struck by a black sedan while crossing Babcock Road near Medical Drive.
Despite immediate medical attention, Villareal was pronounced dead at the scene. The Bexar County Medical Examiner has officially ruled her death as accidental. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding this devastating loss of life.
It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the pedestrian accident. The officials have not disclosed any details regarding the vehicle involved in the collision.
