San Diego Police reported a motor vehicle accident in the Escondido area on March 27. The incident occurred shortly before 12:20 a.m. in the 18100 block of San Pasqual Valley Road.
The crash claimed the life of a passenger and left the driver injured, necessitating hospitalization. According to the authorities, a gray 1999 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck traveling eastbound veered off course, crossing over the double yellow lines and plunging a 50-foot embankment into a citrus orchard. The force of the rollover ejected the 47-year-old passenger. As a result, the victim was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene.
The SDPD’s Traffic Division is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding this crash. The 25-year-old male driver survived but sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to a hospital.
