The California Highway Patrol reported a multi-vehicle accident in El Cajon last weekend. The accident occurred in the 1600 block of Pepper Drive.
According to the officials, a Ducati motorcycle was headed down the road when it collided with a pickup truck backing out of a driveway. The driver of the pickup truck stopped and called the authorities.
The motorcyclist, identified as 47-year-old Anthony Peel, had incurred critical injuries, and lifesaving measures were attempted on him while he was taken to a hospital. He, unfortunately, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
The driver of the pickup truck was not injured in the accident.
The cause of the fatal accident is still being investigated at this time. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role. There are no other details available at this time.
