Authorities identified 46-year-old Priscilla Juarez as the victim who died following a traffic collision that also injured four other people on July 26 in Austin while officers arrested 28-year-old Randall Cavazos for intoxication manslaughter.
The fatal two-vehicle crash was reported at about 11:55 p.m. on the intersection of Burleson Rd. and FM 973. On arrival, responders found five people involved in the accident. According to the investigation reports, the first vehicle, driven by 28-year-old Randall Cavazos, was heading east on Burleson Road when it failed to stop at a red light.
After that, the vehicle slammed into a second vehicle that was going north on FM 973, causing it to flip over. The driver of the second vehicle, identified as 46-year-old Priscilla Juarez, was declared dead at the scene. Two occupants of Juarez’s vehicle were rushed to the hospital; one with life-threatening injuries and the other with non-fatal injuries.
Cavazos and his passenger received non-life threatening injuries as a result of the collision. Cavazos was placed into custody for intoxication manslaughter and intoxication assault. No other details are made available.
The crash remains under review.
