A fatal crash unfolded in the Florence neighborhood of South Los Angeles late Sunday evening, leaving a 46-year-old pedestrian dead. The crash occurred around 10 p.m. near Avalon Boulevard and 81st Street, as reported by the Los Angeles Police Department.
The victim was crossing the street eastbound in an unmarked crosswalk when struck by a southbound vehicle. The car’s make and model remain unknown, with investigators indicating it fled the scene on Avalon Boulevard.
Police were observed surveying the area with SkyCal overhead, with a white canopy covering the victim’s body in the street. Unfortunately, no further details have been provided at this time.
