A 46-year-old man lost his life following a two-vehicle accident in New Orleans East.
As per the initial information, the fatal bicycle crash took place on the Interstate 10 Service Road before Mayo Boulevard. The early reports showed that a 31-year-old man driving a black four door Nissan Altima was heading eastbound on the I-10 Service Road when he hit a bicyclist that was also going eastbound on the I-10 Service Road.
The bicycle rider suffered major injuries and was declared dead at the scene by the officials. Blood samples were obtained to find out if intoxication played a role in the collision. The identity of the deceased will be revealed once the next of kin is notified. No other details are made available.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
