46-Year old Jill Bradford Ross injured after a three-vehicle wreck on Skagit River Bridge (Mount Vernon, WA)

On Tuesday, 46-Year old Jill Bradford Ross, of Sedro-Woolley, was injured following a multi-vehicle wreck on the Skagit River Bridge.

The three-vehicle pile-up took place on northbound I-5 at about 10:43 a.m. According to the investigation reports, 37-year old James Ross of Matlock, Washington was going Northbound on I-5 in a white 2016 Kenworth Semi Truck when he stopped for traffic ahead of him. 46-Year old Jill Bradford Ross was behind Ross in a red 2015 Nissan Altima Sedan and she also stopped for traffic.

64-year old Grady Ayers of Omaha, Nebraska was going behind Bradford Ross in a Black 2009 Peterbilt Semi truck and was unable to stop for traffic. The truck then rear-ended the woman’s car.  The impact folded the Nissan Altima in half on top of itself and the semi ended up on top of the car, pinning Bradford Ross in her vehicle.

Officials requested a Tow Truck to the scene. As the tow truck lifted the front end of the truck off the car, Bradford Ross managed to get out of the crumpled Nissan Altima on her own. She was then taken to Skagit Valley Hospital in Mount Vernon for treatment for her injuries.

The cause of the crash was “Following Too Close” and Ayers was cited in the collision. All three occupants were wearing their seat belts at the time of the accident. Drugs or alcohol was not involved in the wreck. Carl’s Towing impounded the Nissan Altima and Dick’s Towing in Mount Vernon, WA impounded the 2009 Peterbilt.

An investigation continues.
