The Tucson Police Department reported a two-vehicle crash on Wednesday.
The accident occurred at the intersection of South Sixth Avenue and West 44th Street at around 8 a.m.
According to the officials, a man has been speeding north when he hit the rear of a dark gray 2008 Dodge Ram pickup truck.
The man was driving a Hyundai, which the police reported was stolen.
The driver of the Hyundai, identified as 46-year-old Braulio Gil Estrada, incurred critical injuries and was rushed to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
There was one person in the front seat who fled the scene before the police could come.
The driver of the Dodge Ram, identified as a 21-year-old man, incurred minor injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Speeding is considered to have played a major role in the accident.
The fatal accident is still being investigated.
