The Texas Department of Public Safety has identified the victim of a tragic hit-and-run crash that occurred on Saturday morning as 46-year-old San Carlos resident Bernardo Santamaria Magana.
The incident took place at 6:13 a.m. along State Highway 107, west of 84th Street. According to preliminary investigations by DPS, Magana was walking southbound on SH 107 when the collision occurred.
Video footage indicates that Magana was crossing the street when he was struck by a red/maroon passenger car traveling eastbound on SH 107. Unfortunately, the driver failed to report the crash and fled the scene, leaving Magana fatally injured.
Authorities are actively investigating the hit-and-run incident, seeking information and cooperation from the public to identify the responsible driver and bring them to justice for causing Magana’s untimely death.
