Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at approximately 1:20 a.m. last Friday on the 13400 block of the South Freeway (South Highway 288) service road. The pedestrian accident involved a white Dodge Charger travelling northbound on the service road.
A woman was walking in the same direction when she was struck by the Charger. Emergency services rushed the woman to Ben Taub General Hospital, where she was pronounced dead on Monday (December 18). Her identity is not yet known at this time.
The 26-year-old female driver of the Charger stayed at the scene and was found not to be impaired. She cooperated with authorities and was released. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
