According to the California Highway Patrol, a motor vehicle accident occurred in Santa Barbara on Wednesday. The crash happened on Marina Drive at around 4:45 p.m.
According to the investigators, a black Yamaha sport bike and a 45-year-old were involved in the collision. The Yamaha driver was traveling eastbound and collided with the right side of the postal truck.
A 45-year-old Michael Joseph Figone was identified as the motorcyclist who suffered significant injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to the reports, it is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident. No additional information regarding the fatal crash was provided by the Deputies.
