45-year-old Lamontache Williams killed after a rear-end collision in East Baton Rouge Parish (Baton Rouge, LA)

Authorities identified 45-year-old Lamontache Williams, of Zachary, as the man who lost his life following a two-vehicle collision on Wednesday in East Baton Rouge Parish.

The fatal car crash took place on US 61 north of Thomas Road just after 9 p.m. According to the investigation reports, Williams was traveling northbound on US 61 in a 2017 GMC Terrain when his car rear-ended a 2006 Mack dump truck for undetermined reasons.

Williams was not buckled up at the time of the accident. He succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Blood samples were collected and submitted to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for analysis. No other details are made available.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
