Louisiana State Police responded to a two-vehicle crash on Monday that claimed a life. The crash happened on LA Hwy 838 at Well road.
The victim was identified as Kieta M Hale, 45.
A preliminary investigation revealed that Hale was driving a 2011 Toyota Sienna south on Well Road. Hale failed to stop at the stop sign and was struck by a 2015 Kenworth concrete truck traveling west on the highway.
Hale was taken to the hospital, where he died later. Troopers said that Hale was wearing a seatbelt during the crash.
The other driver, who was restrained, remained uninjured from the crash.
A routine toxicology sample was obtained and sent for analysis.
The crash is being investigated.
