The California Highway Patrol reported a motor vehicle accident in Lancaster on Saturday. The accident occurred on State Route 14 and Avenue G at around 8:14 p.m. on Friday.
According to the officials, two vehicles were involved in a collision. A pickup truck has crashed into a big rig. The events leading up to the crash are not entirely clear at this time.
The driver of the pickup truck was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. The officials have since identified the victim as 45-year-old Esteban Chaj Reynoso. There have been no updates regarding the driver of the big rig.
The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated at this time. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision. There are no other details available at this time.
