On early Sunday, a 44-year-old Belding woman suffered injuries following a traffic accident in Montcalm County.
Officers actively responded to the intersection of South Greenville Road and West Dickerson Lake Road in Montcalm Township at about 2:11 a.m. after getting reports of a single-vehicle crash. The preliminary investigation showed that the woman was heading south on South Greenville Road in a 2020 Dodge Challenger when she failed to maintain control of the car for unknown reasons. After that, the car went off the roadway to the left and hit multiple trees.
On arrival, officers found the driver, a 44-year-old Belding woman, complaining of injuries. The woman was transported to a local hospital with non-fatal injuries. At this time, it is unclear if she was buckled up at the time of the collision. Speed and alcohol might have contributed to the crash. No other details are immediately available.
An investigation is ongoing.
