A fatal accident caused the closure of the westbound lanes of the I-610 North Loop at Yale Street in Houston on Monday morning. According to Houston police, a tragic incident occurred around 4:30 a.m. 

A 44-year-old man was walking on the freeway and was struck by a white Chevrolet Impala. Regrettably, the pedestrian succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the crash. As of now, the victim’s identity has not been released to the public.

The driver of the Impala was questioned by authorities and did not display any signs of impairment, leading to their release without charges. The North Loop was reopened by Houston TranStar at 9:03 a.m.
