A fatal crash caused the closure of westbound lanes on the I-610 North Loop at Yale Street in Houston on Monday morning. The incident occurred around 4:30 a.m. when a 44-year-old man, who remains unidentified, was walking on the freeway and was struck by a white Chevrolet Impala.

Tragically, the pedestrian died at the scene.  Houston police questioned the driver of the Impala, who showed no signs of impairment and was subsequently released without charges.

The closure of the North Loop lasted for several hours, impacting traffic in the area. However, Houston TranStar was able to reopen the lanes by 9:03 a.m. The investigation into the fatal crash is ongoing, with authorities working to determine the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.
