The California Highway Patrol reported a head-on collision on Sunday.
The accident occurred along South George Washington Boulevard, just south of Bogue Road. It happened at 10 p.m.
According to the officials, a 2017 Ford Mustang collided with a 1999 Ford Explorer when they were going in opposite directions.
The driver of the Explorer, identified only as a 44-year-old man, was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Mustang, identified as an 18-year-old girl, was rushed to Rideout Hospital with major injuries. There has been no update on her present condition.
The identities of both victims have not been disclosed.
The officials suspect alcohol and drugs to have played a factor in the accident. The fatal accident is still being investigated.
Both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the collision.
There are no other details available at this time.
